Lyricks Drops Videos for “High Road” ft C-Note & “Memories” ft Sam Ock x Jess Yang; and “The Last Year”

Virgina’s Ly to the Ricks has just unleashed a pair of videos for “High Road” and “Memories”. The former features his fellow VA brethren, C-Note and the latter is Sam Ock track with Jess Yang that Lyricks jumped onto. Both are great listens/watches but the “Memories” in particular has am eerily yet beautifully haunting quality to it. The two tracks are pretty different in style, giving you a variety of options for your listening/viewing enjoyment.

[edit] And now one more, “The Last Year”

Sam Ock x Evan Chapman Support The Supply with “Stories”

Here’s a post to break up today’s many Hip-Hop related news stories. Even though Sam Ock just released a solo EP yesterday, that doesn’t mean he’s going to let up on his creative grind. This new song and video pair is called “Stories” and has been released as a promotional single with all proceeds going straight to The Supply Education Group. Together with Evan Chapman assisting on the percussion, the half of June have put together a pretty great song with a moving message and powerful cause. Get the song for a dollar or name your own donation amount for The Supply.

Sam Ock Presents “The Breach”

Here’s an interesting piece by musician/singer/rapper & AMP member Sam Ock. It’s called “The Breach” and it’s an instrumental song meant to convey that brief, solitary moment that occurs right before a rush of emotion flows over you and tears fall. I’m beginning to see a more abstract/conceptual pattern in Sam’s solo work and it’ll be interesting to see where his music continues to go from here.

This song’s about the moment right before you weep. If you’ve felt that strong emotion, I think you’ll be able to relate with me/this song/instrumental.

Sam Ock Longs to Return “Home” [Free DL]

In his latest release, AMP’s Sam Ock sings about his desire to go home. No not his everyday residence in the Old Line state, but rather he’s speaking about Heaven. Many look upon the idea of meeting their maker as a bad thing but Sam sings of his building anticipation to be with God again. It’s certainly not something you hear about everyday, but this anthem-like song is certainly worth hearing. Grab the song for free here.

My buddy and I were in the car, and he told me I should write a song about longing to go to Heaven and struggling to wait here on this earth. I didn’t plan on writing it so soon, but once I recorded all the instruments, I knew that the subject matter fit perfectly.

This song’s about Heaven.

[Video] Documentary on Project Group June (Sam Ock, Jason Min, Elias Yoon, Evan Chapman)

Here’s an interesting 16 minute documentary piece on the project group known as June, comprised of Sam Ock, Jason Min, Elias Yoon, and Evan Chapman. Back in February, the four dropped their debut self titled EP. They are called June to signify the month they initially got together and worked out a ton of music. This documentary video provides some behind the scenes footage interspersed with interview segments to provide additional context. It’s definitely a recommended watch.

Sam Ock Releases “Intervention” [Free DL]

Finally, some new Sam Ock material! But I bet most of you have never heard him sound like this! He puts on his rocker hat and pumps up the volume  for this one, complete with distortion, grunge, and a little bit of edge & screaming (especially compared to his usual crooner self). I gotta say, this is a refreshing twist from him! DL the track for free here.

Hey y’all!

I started working on this late December…and never finished it until now! Aren’t you guys glad that I finished it?! I needed to get my Paramore on! LOLOLOL

Special thanks to my bro, Daniel Chae for helping me with the bass part! Check out his band, they’re totally super underrated!:
