Se7en’s US MV & Single drops today

Se7en’s single and MV for “Girls” debuted today. It’s exactly what the previews suggested it would be.

Since it’s on myspace video I can’t embed it here but just follow the link above. Or if you want to buy it click here.

Productions values are pretty decent and Se7en himself looks sharp but overall the entire package is a bit underwhelming. For something that was two years in the making it just seems too trite and overly polished. Thank god Lil Kim isnt spitting her trademark raunchy lyrics, that would have been awkward. I think my biggest issue is the fact that Se7en just sounds too squeaky poppy clean to be doing club tracks. It’s kinda like if one of the backstreet boys decided to drop a club banger. It gets a little better towards the end when Se7en’s pushing his voice harder and riffing.

The video itself is extremely typical. Really nothing special.

And I guess that sums up the entire ordeal. Nothing special. Hopefully the album will have stronger singles.

Se7en releases MV promos

Se7en is all set to drop his first single and video on March 10th after being pushed back from Valentines day. In anticipation he has released two teasers for your enjoyment.

Honestly it looks corny and played as hell but at least production values are clean. It’s just another BET video only with an asian dude. I’m guessing its just another paycheck for Lil Kim. In my opinion it’s a decent attempt but I know he’s better than this.

Tired & lazy from work. Oh well… here’s whats going on in the YPM world.

Se7en Debut Date Finally Set

Se7en, who’s been set to debut for seemingly forever, has finally had a release date set!

The track “Girls” ft Lil Kim which was leaked months ago will drop on Valentines day.

YG Entertainment released the following statement:

“Se7en will finally make his US Debut with the digital single “Girls,” on February 14th. The music video for “Girls” will also be released on the same day.

I was never crazy about the song but I never thought it was terrible either. Best wishes to Se7en.

Some bad press for BoA & Se7en

Seoulbeats reports on two separate instances of not-so-favorable press for US artists-to-be BoA & Se7en.

For Boa, comments were made by famed film critic Roger Ebert. It wasn’t a direct criticism but she was more of an innocent bystander in a tirade against David Lyon (for whom she visited for his birthday bash.

Se7en, however got it even worse as he was torn apart in a commentary about one of his Verizon gigs.

Perhaps the old adage holds true? Any press is good press?

Se7en’s buzz slowly starts to grow

It’s no performance at times square via MTV Iggy but it’s a start.
