Sophia Moon Shares an Acoustic Rendition of “Echo”

In the fall of 2009, Sophia Moon released the Staring Back at Me album, before eventually seeing her output pace trickle down to the point where we didn’t hear much from her in the past couple years. However, we’re starting to see glimpses of renewed life in Sophia’s musical career, with a new cover here and there and in this case, a new spin on an old tune. “Echo” was a Dance/Pop track off the aforementioned album, but she’s put an acoustic guitar flip on the track, slowing it down and making it more of a ballad. Take a listen below.

Sophia Moon Reveals “Compared to You”

I can’t quite remember the last “new” unoriginal material we’ve heard from Sophia Moon, so even if this one isn’t fresh out the booth, I’m more than glad that it’s been shared with us. I’m more accustomed to hearing Sophia on a more Pop oriented tilt, but “Compared to You” has a decidedly late 90′s/early 2000′s R&B tip that begs for a rapper to jump on as a remix. I always got a soft spot for that smooth R&B/Pop sans auto-tune and that doesn’t sound like a throw-away record from a Hip-Hop album.

Sophia Moon Releases MV for ‘Five Star Recovery’

Here’s the latest music video for Pop/R&B artist Sophia Moon. This is for the single ‘Five Star Recovery’ off her album Staring Back At Me, release in the fall of last year. She is supposed to be making a huge promotional push for the album this year and this is one of the first major releases from that project.

The song is one of the catchier numbers from the album and can get stuck in your head. I wasn’t a fan of the applause sfx in the bridge but I can see what she was trying to convey with that. It’s all about a woman that faces heartbreak but finds empowerment to move past it for the better. The video is clean and of pretty good quality though it seems like half of it is a shot of Sophia singing from a window balcony. An enjoyable watch though not particularly outstanding. All things considered, it’s a decent debut music video and we extend our congrats to Ms Moon and her team on the career milestone.

Sophia Moon Reveals Behind the Scenes of the MV shoot for ‘Unbreakable’

Pop/R&B singer Sophia Moon has been hard at work in ramping up the promotional activities for her album Staring Back at Me. She’s got one MV coming out in the next few weeks and another for ‘Unbreakable’ now in the process of being shot. She’s posted up some photos and footage from the ‘Unbreakable’ shoot so be sure to check it out for a glimpse of what to expect.

Note: I just realized she’s got some killer dimples =)

Sophia Moon Interview w/ HMTV Canada

Sophia Moon has got a new interview out with Hollywood Music TV Canada, and it goes pretty in depth about her latest album Staring Back at Me, and the process behind how it came to be. I enjoyed the read because it gave an additional layer of context behind the album that helps me appreciate certain aspects of it more. The interview also touches upon the earlier part of her career and where she plans to go from here.

Sophia Moon Shares a Behind the Scenes Look at MV Shoot

Sophia Moon is in the process of shooting the music video for her single ‘Five Star Recovery’ from her latest album Staring Back at Me.

The song is a pretty good pop song with an uplifting message and solid production. Hopefully the video will enhance the experience and turn out great. Can’t wait until it drops!

Check out all the shots from the first day of shooting over at her facebook fan page.

Sophia Moon Performs ‘Echo’ Live

Sophia Moon has posted up a video of her performing her single ‘Echo’ live at the Emerging Trends Show at The Castle during Boston Fashion Week earlier this month.

“Echo” is the single on Sophia Moon’s solo album titled ‘Staring Back At Me’. Reserve your copy of the album at http://www.rokusa.com. The album is due to release mid to late November.

The video is pretty bad actually, with plenty of blurry/shaky cam action going. Who ever edited the video did their best so salvage the footage with some effects but it really isnt a great watch. On a brighter note, the audio came out clean (sounds like they may have layered the studio track on top of the live audio). You can hear the song loud of clear and its really a pretty catchy pop song. Looking forward to the rest of the album!

Sophia Moon to Release Album this Fall

R&B/Pop singer/songwriter Sophia Moon has announced a new album to be released this fall entitled ‘Staring Back at Me’. From what I’ve seen/heard from her youtube channel and myspace, she has a good recorded voice. Hopefully she’ll have the proper production to back her up because it seems like too many unsigned female singers don’t have the proper backing to showcase their talents.
