The Nehemiah Band Perform “Hey”

Continuing with their guerilla acoustic performances video series, two members of The Nehemiah Band present a new clip of them singing “Hey”. As has been the case thus far, this is another guitar/cajon assisted piece – self described “sing about a rescue”. I’m beginning to wonder if they should try their hand at a completely organic/acoustic EP. Their music has a certain appeal when stripped down to the basics.

The Nehemiah Band Performs “To the Fatherless”

In the same style of their last clip, “1 thru 7″, members of The Nehemiah Band have posted up a nocturnal performance of their song “To the Fatherless” off their Break of Dawn album. This video is a lot less goofy and I’m personally glad they chose to do this song as it was one of my favorite cuts from their album. Hopefully we’ll start to see some clips that include the whole band too soon.

The Nehemiah Band Performs “1 Thru 7″

This is gonna be one of those clips you think is annoyingly silly or epic and hilarious. Two members of the Nehemiah Band perform their song “1 Thru 7″ off their Break of Dawn album from a couple years back. It’s a self-described “song about freedom”, and well… I’m gonna have to let you see/hear this rendition for yourself. It’s definitely… unique!

How You Can Help Produce The Nehemiah Band’s Next Album

SoCal group, The Nehemiah Band, haven’t exactly been super active as of late, but that’s because they’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, preparing their sophomore full length album – Morning Came to Me. This will serve as the follow up to their 2009 debut, Break of Dawn, however they are looking to step up their game, and as a result have chosen to enlist the services of more seasoned professionals in the industry to make the album a reality. But like most artists we cover, this requires support and fundage that they just can’t quite afford and this is where you all come into play. If you are so inclined, click through to their Kickstarter page to find out exactly how you can contribute to their next release.

[Album Release] The Nehemiah Band – Awaken the Dawn EP

The fellas behind The Nehemiah Band have been on the quiet side as of late however I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a new EP out called Awaken the Dawn. It’s very short in length, at only 3 tracks it’s actually more of a demo and serves as a rehash of some older and unreleased material. There’s actually quite a bit of history behind each of the tracks but I’ll let you read their words about it because they describe it better than I ever could.

“Awaken the Dawn” and “Rice, Kimchee and Eggs (RKE)” are two songs we play at nearly every gig, but we haven’t properly released either of the songs.

Awaken the Dawn was originally found on Mike’s collaborative effort with Jaeson Ma (Namesake: bit.ly/kdChko) that was released back in 2007. We tried to release an Awaken the Dawn 2.0 on Break of Dawn, but after we started recording…we didn’t like what we created. Thus, scrapped it and told ourselves we’d re-record it someday.

RKE on the other hand, could be found on the Break of Dawn album if you popped in the cd and searched for it on your computer; however, we feel that this new version is finally in-line with how we want the song to sound. Descry thinks it’s because he actually cooked an egg before the song started, but Kevin thinks it’s because of his enhanced opera man section. You be the judge.

Both versions were recorded/mastered by Feats in Inches drummer (and Descry’s younger brother), Steve Lee (check out Feats in Inches here: featsininches.bandcamp.com)

Esna Yoon, Ben Bae, Feats in Inches, Alex Hwang, and The Nehemiah Band Shout Out Manifest

We already told you about the star-studded event that is Mani’s West Coast album release party, but a bunch of other AA artists have gone on video, publicly giving him the co-sign. Esna Yoon, Ben Bae, Feats in Inches, Alex Hwang and TNB all show their love and encourage you to come out if you’re in beautiful Southern California. With so many people vouching for the guy, how can you not?

The Nehemiah Band Releases MV for ‘Press Into You’

Last night, the Nehemiah Band premiered their debut MV for their single ‘Press Into You’, from the album Break of Dawn, on uStream. I caught some of it but the connection quality was a little bit lacking so I wasn’t able to fully appreciate it. Well thankfully they’ve posted it up on youtube this morning.

After watching it in full, let me say it’s not exactly perfect but this is one of my favorite MV’s in quite some time.

I really liked how the group tried something fresh and different from your typical MV, and the acting was pretty decent. All the band members were present in some form or another and it all matched the feel of the song very well. A great video debut for TNB. I’m glad this one dropped.
