Dia Frampton & KiD CuDi Perform “Don’t Kick the Chair” on The Voice

Last night, Dia Frampton returned to the stage that made her a national name, performing “Don’t Kick the Chair” with guest feature, KiD CuDi. The song is from her major label solo debut, Red, that was released after her 2nd place finish on the inaugural season of The Voice on NBC, here in the states. If you missed it, you can catch the action in the video below.

NBC.com Debuts Webseries on Dia Frampton – ‘Dia’s Next Stage’

With the second season of The Voice getting ready to premiere on Superbowl Sunday, NBC has decided to release a webseries with 1st season runner-up (but arguably the bigger winner), Dia Frampton. It’s more like a well produced VLOG/extended Entertainment Tonight type of series (with some product placement to boot), but it allows you to catch up with the rising singer and see what she’s been up to since her famous run on the TV show. The first episode debuted today in conjunction with Huffington Post. Stay tuned til the end for a new performance of her single ‘The Broken Ones’.

Dia Frampton Reportedly Working on Solo Album

Fresh off her 2nd place run on the singing competition TV show The Voice, Dia Frampton has told the Las Vegas Review Journal that she is currently in the works on her own solo album – branching out from her namesake band with her sister Meg & Dia. You should check out the rest of the interview/article as she talks a little bit about her early days with the band and why she’s decided it’s the opportune time to release a solo project.

This is also the first time Frampton is striking out on her own, though she says she’s going to continue writing with her sister and hopes to reconvene their band at some point.

“Meg and I still want to play together,” she says. “I still want to tour with the same Meg & Dia band and do all that stuff, but I’m going to be working on a record right now. I just wasn’t ready to write a record so soon and so fast, but there’s so much momentum with the show. I’ve been writing every day, like three different songs. I want to write at least a hundred songs and then pick out like 12 that I think are the best for the record.”

Dia Frampton Places Second in The First Season of NBC’s The Voice

In a tough and close results show, Dia Frampton unfortunately lost the title to the first ever season of NBC’s The Voice to veteran singer Javier Colon. It was a well deserved win for Javier but we can’t help but wish that Dia had won top honors. Needless to say, she’s had an incredible run, beating out many other singers and earning herself a world of new exposure and fans. We commend and applaud her for her efforts and hope that this experience will only strengthen her career along with her band, Meg & Dia. Don’t forget to catch her and the other top 7 competitors on tour!

Catch her great performances of her new single “Inventing Shadows”, and duet with coach Blake Shelton on “I Won’t Back Down”.

[Spoiler Alert] Dia Frampton’s Semi-Final Results on NBC’s The Voice

It’s another week in the world of reality television, and another stage in the singing competition The Voice in NBC. Our favorite, Dia Frampton of band Meg & Dia, has just been voted in via (confusing) score calculations taking into account both judge and public voting. She scored slightly higher than teammate Xenia to earn the right to move on to the final week of competition. Dia will be facing off against Vicci Martinez, Javier Colon, and Beverly McClellan for the top spot! Catch her fantastic performance of “Losing My Religion” below.

Does Dia Frampton Advance to the Semi-Finals on NBC’s The Voice? (Spoiler)

For those of you keeping up on the hit summer show The Voice on NBC, Dia Frampton has emerged as one of the favorites of the pack, especially after her great performance of Kanye’s “Heartless” last week. The question lingered all week whether or not it was enough to stir either her coach Blake Shelton or America into saving her and having her advance to the semi-finals starting next week. Tonight, the results were revealed on live TV and the verdict?

For better or worse, find out after the break. We don’t want to reveal the result to those not on the East coast. Continue reading

[Live Performance] Dia Frampton – “Heartless” on NBC’s The Voice

Never would I have guessed I would see/hear folk pop singer Dia Frampton sing a Kanye song… but that’s exactly what happened on live national TV on this week’s episode of The Voice. Representing Team Blake Shelton, she sang the normally auto-tuned “Heartless” in her own folksy style. Earning high marks from all the judges, she’ll hopefully fly through to the next round.

Dia Frampton Advances Past the Battle Round on NBC’s The Voice

Dia Frampton (of Meg & Dia) has just advanced past the Battle round on the NBC show The Voice to earn a spot as one of the four singers from Blake Shelton’s team for the live show. She was chosen over Serabee in what was quite frankly a bizarre pairing to the song “You Can’t Hurry Love” by the Supremes. Serabee, obviously the more technically capable singer, failed to show restraint and oversang herself out of the competition with what was ultimately a very messy performance. Dia, on the other hand, kept her cool and stayed true to her roots though it was apparent she was a bit uncomfortable. Regardless, a win is a win and we think it was well deserved. Can’t wait to see her perform live!

Check out their reactions after the break. You can find more footage over at The Voice.

Dia Frampton (of Meg & Dia) Competes on NBC’s The Voice

Dia Frampton, of Meg & Dia fame, appeared the other night on NBC’s new hit show The Voice. The Utah singer managed to impress both Country artist Blake Shelton and Hip-Hop/R&B/Pop artist Cee-Lo Green, ultimately choosing Blake to be her mentor. They seem to be impressed with her sweet, earthly voice as much as her cute, kind, gentle personality. We’ll be keeping close dibs on Dia’s progress in the show, let’s hope she goes far! Catch her short interview after the break. (Note, these videos are from Hulu, which doesn’t tend to keep them up for long so don’t blame us if you can’t see em at some point and time in the future!)
