Tim Be Told Releases New Version of “Gravity’s Hold”

To commemorate the release of their sophomore album (Humanity) via digital distributor Bandcamp, band Tim Be Told has included a free bonus track to those that purchase& DL the album from the site. The song in question is “Gravity’s Hold”, originally a song from their debut album Getting By. It’s now been re-tooled a fair amount and can also be purchased as a stand alone single for those who choose to go that route instead. Honestly, it’s rare for me to come across a TBT song that I don’t like – and this one gives me no reason to buck that trend. Take a listen & buy it via the widget below.

Spotlight: The Inspire ’11 Performers (Tim Be Told, Lyricks, AMP, Jason Min, Sarah Kim, Saving Thomas, Jae Jin)

It’s been a long time since our last Spotlight but we’re finally back with some more interviews! Back at the top of 2011, we were honored to be a part of a little event called Inspire – here on the East coast for the first time ever. This is long, long overdue but we wanted to be sure to share the pre-show interviews we had with the artists – Tim Be Told, Lyricks, AMP, Jason Min, Sarah Kim, Saving Thomas, and Jae Jin. You maybe seen some of our past spotlight features on a couple of these artists, but the following clips provide a specific glimpse and context of the heart of these musicians before the event. So without further ado we hope you enjoy the interviews! (For photos, check out the FB album courtesy of Helping Hands & Tom of Meet Inspiration)

Tim Be Told Releases MV for ‘Analyze’

Tim Be Told has dropped the official music video for their single ‘Analyze’ from their EP From the Inside. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs and I’m glad they were finally able to release the video. It’s a pretty neat concept for the video and everything looks real sharp. It would have been nice to see the band in various locales too and not just in the white room but I understand there are constraints to deal with. Sometimes the message is bigger than the art =).

Best of all you can also DL the song for free below!

Tim Be Told x Clara Chung x Lyricks x Manifest to Perform For Haiti Benefit Concert

In a few days, on April 29th, Seek Justice is presenting a benefit concert called Waves of Mercy, to help bring clean water to Haiti. Asian-American artists Tim Be Told, Lyricks, Clara Chung and Manifest are among the acts booked for this event to be held at Princeton University. So if you’re anywhere near Jersey, this is a great way to help out an important cause and catch an incredible roster of artists at the same time. You can find more details about the event and the host at their website.

Tim Be Told Releases Live Footage from Neon Light Sessions

Check out the new footage posted up by Tim Be Told from something they call the Neon Light Sessions. It looks to be a small, intimate concert event. The audio quality is kind of hit or miss since its all coming from the camera mic which is constantly panning. The band sounds great though but it seems like it took a while for the audience to warm up. They sang two of their originals along with a cool cover of Rihanna.

‘Analyze’

‘Collision’

‘Take a Bow’

Note: Don’t forget to check out our exclusive Q&A with the band if you haven’t already.

Tim Be Told Interview w/ Mochi Magazine

Tim Be Told has a new interview out with Mochi Magazine (what an awesome site name!). The feature article is short but gets straight to the point on frontman Tim Ouyang deciding to pursue music despite the cultural misunderstandings between him and his family. It just  goes to show that these are a determined group of guys willing to lay down the ground work  for future musicians to do their thing too.

You can catch the interview in full after the break. Don’t forget to also check out our own Q&A session with the band.

Spotlight: Tim Be Told Q&A

For this edition of Spotlight we did things a little different and went the more conventional route. Last week the band Tim Be Told took some time out of their hectic touring schedule to chat with a-Tunes for a little Q&A. They were a great group of guys to talk with who are clearly passionate about their music. We’re working on having a follow up, in depth video interview in the future but for now here’s a little something to keep you TBT fans occupied =).
A huge thank you to the band and make sure you download their free single Analyze and try to catch them on tour!
You can find the interview and some bonus footage from their tour after the jump!
