The Asian HipHop Summit Returns for 2011

The Asian HipHop Summit makes a welcome return this fall with a heavily packed, month-long schedule that covers most of the Eastern United States. Participants include the Yellow Boyz, Lyricks, Johnnyphlo, Decipher, Yongie Phresh, and a slew of other artists. You’ll need to check the specific event details for information on which artists will be where and when. Either way, East Coast, prepare yourself for an onslaught of Hip-Hop! It’s been too long.
Look after the break or check out the Facebook page for all the tour information!
Snapshot: The Far East Movement Tour Bus
This past summer, the Far East Movement had the incredible opportunity to go on a nation wide tour with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Keri Hilson & more – and part of the perks to joining such a high profile tour is getting your own mobile accommodations aka… a tour bus. Take one look at that vehicle and you know FM has undeniably “made it”. If having your faces plastered across a 40 foot bus for the purpose of touring with the best selling Hip-Hop acts of 2011 doesn’t scream commercial success… then I don’t know what does.
This photo was taken from their official Facebook albums of the tour. You can view more great pictures here and here.
D-Pryde Releases Rik Cordero Directed MV – “Outro Flow”; Signs on to Tour with J. Cole
Don’t say we didn’t tell you it was coming! The highly anticipated Rik Cordero directed MV for D-Pryde‘s “Outro Flow” song from his recent Mars Mixtape has just released. It’s a simple and well done visual for a simple and well done track; very fitting and something I can definitely appreciate.
But in perhaps even bigger news, D-Pryde has just announced that he will be going on an 8-stop tour in Canada with quickly rising rap star, J. Cole! You can find out more information after the break. A huge congrats to Prizzy for two huge milestones.
Brian Joo to Feature IAMMEDIC, Johnnyphlo & Decipher on Tour

Brian Joo is halfway through his US mini-tour but what makes the last two show dates (in LA & NY respectively) particularly noteworthy is that he is linking up with some fellow local Asian-American talent at each stop. In the city of angels, he’ll be rocking the stage with Electro-Pop group IAMMEDIC and back on the east coast in the big apple, he’ll be joined by Decipher & Johnnyphlo. The rumor mill has been spinning that this is also likely Phlo’s last US show for some time so all the more reason for his fan’s to come through. You can find details on each individual show after the jump.
Legaci Shares Live Performance Footage from Bieber Tour
By now everyone should be aware that Legaci got to tour with the Biebs himself as his back up. One of the greatest thing bout that opportunity was that they were given 10 minutes to perform a set in the middle of the show. So naturally they chose one of their biggest covers, the top 40 acappella medley. I think they sound even better live, listen to the crowd go nuts! Much respect to the crew, can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
Kina Grannis Shares Latest Track w/ EW

As Kina Grannis prepares to launch her remastered and remixed version of Stairwells on April 5th, she’s begun to leak songs, giving her fans a taste of what’s to come. This time around Entertainment Weekly is the venue of choice, and they have an exclusive sneak peek at the new single “The One You Say Goodnight To”. It’s a catchy, acoustic number and well… it’s very Kina. I was feeling it and I think most of you will too. The album is available for pre-order so if you missed it the first time around you definitely want to get this one.
The song is reported only going to be available for streaming the next couple days, so make sure to listen now before it’s gone! Otherwise you’ll have to wait till the album drops or catch her on tour.
afterschoolspecial Remixes “Opposite of Adults” by Chiddy Bang
The rapping frontman from band afterschoolspecial looks to be flexing his MC muscle a little more. He’s got a new remix out of “Opposite of Adults” by Chiddy Bang. Haven’t seen the guy spit like this in a while. He did a pretty decent job and chose a great track to flip. Although they chose an interesting way to distribute the track. If you want a free copy of it you can e-mail info@afterschoolspecialmusic.com and be sure to put “ADULT SONG” as the subject.
It’s a darker take on the track- reminiscing on the days of what it was like to be kid and the struggles of what it’s like now to be an adult.
