The Solo Rap Cyphers Youtube Round-Up – 5/11/12

I’ll keep this one short and to the point. Rap. Remixes. Cyphers. The production values are low, and these are one-off verses over other people’s beats, many of which you should recognize if you’re a Rap fan. These are simple and to the point… or maybe even lazy in some cases, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Traphik x JRA Sing You “The Cuddle Song”

By now, we all know that Traphik loves to indulge his funny bone as both a rapper and a comedian. In this particular clip, he ropes in JRA to join him on his quest for musical comedic relief. They give you a silly little ditty they’ve christened, “The Cuddle Song”. It drags a little bit in length, but there are a few laugh out loud moments sprinkled here and there.

Traphik Featured on Vibe.com

Tim Chantarangsu aka Timothy DeLaGhetto aka Traphik has found himself to be the subject of a new Vibe.com interview. A lot of it is focused his new Cruise Control mixtape, along with what he plans to do from here on out. Big props to Tim for the look from another major media publication! Slowly but surely, people are taking notice of the community. Below is an excerpt from the interview. For the rest, head over to Vibe.com!

Has the priority shifted in terms of what comes number one passion-wise, whether it’s music or being a comedian?

At the end of the day, I’m all about making the world a brighter place. Right now, the videos in general are what’s making me my money and what I’m living off of whether it’s a music video or the comedy. Of course people are a lot more pickier with their music and it’s easier to make somebody laugh than to have everyone dig your music. So the music is always dope but it’s extra rewarding when people give you so much love on the music ‘cause I’m always a funny dude. But in terms of like where my priorities are, I’m just a Renaissance man.

The Cover MVs Youtube Round-Up – 4/23/12

The first round-up for the last full week of April is a collection of cover music videos. The bread and butter of most Youtube artists are their cover videos, and sometimes they go the extra mile and put together a music video set to the tune/instrumental written by another. This particular batch of videos happen to be mostly of the R&B and Hip-Hop variety, but a couple of Pop records found their way into the mix too.

Joanlee Debuts MV for “My Fresh” ft Traphik

What do you get when you mix Joanlee, Traphik, production by Smash Hitta, a cameo by Michelle Martinez and dancing by Jackie? That would be the music video for “My Fresh” off of Joan’s Under the Radaur mixtape project from June of last year. Whether you like the song or not, you gotta give props to the MV prod values. It may not be the most artistic thing you ever saw, but it’s undeniably sharp. You can catch the lyrics after the break.

New MV for the Traphik Assisted “All Night” by The Natural

Remember a few weeks back, when we shared with you a joint that Traphik jumped on by The Natural called “All Night” (also featuring Stopha)? The fellas stayed true to their word and dropped the music video for the Hip-Pop song. The video is fairly made for what it is, nothing too fancy – they reportedly shot it all in a couple hours, and it shows but they made the most of it.
