Trin Monsta Presents MV for “Rich Beggar”

“Rich Beggar” is the newest song and music video from Trin Monsta. This is off his upcoming Changes project. The story of the economical struggle and pursuit of stability and success is a common one, so in that sense this song should be relatable to many. The execution is a bit more of a mixed bag, with the song failing to make the most of the soulful beat while the video is a cleanly edited though uninvolved watch.

Trin Monsta x GIBS V Release MV for “Higher”

Last Fall, TM & GIBS V brought us a new song called “Higher“, a heavily auto-tuned, radio friendly track.  Today saw the release of the official music video for said single. In a way it’s a perfectly fitting visual for the track – easy to watch/listen but not entirely making a lasting impression. Although I will say that seeing that beach makes me feel even colder on this Winter February day on the East Coast.

Trin Monsta Releases the “Undercover Lover” MV

Trin Monsta continues today’s theme of love jams with the music video to his single from late last year, “Undercover Lover“, starring Leolani T. Nothing too out of the ordinary here, and if you’ve got an appreciation for the genre you may enjoy this song & video – I’ve heard better, I’ve heard worse. The track is supposed to be from his upcoming album, Changes.

See the Video for Trin Monsta’s “She Won’t Understand”

Towards the end of December, we heard a new track from TM called “She Won’t Understand”. To promote the track, the artist has unveiled the visuals for said track. It’s a simple music video that gets a little repetitive but it’s a fair match up for the slow, piano-driven track. It would have been a lot nicer had he opted to do an actual live performance instead.

Trin Monsta Shares “She Won’t Understand”

Trin Monsta presents a new song called “She Won’t Understand” that makes use of a dope piano loop and an overall solid instrumental. As for TM’s vocal contributions, they aren’t quite as impressive with the delivery a bit abrasive in comparison. It might just need some time to get used to so we’ll let this marinate for a little bit. TM has a new album, Changes due in early 2012 so let’s see what else he plans to bring to the table.

Trin Monsta Leaks “Undercover Lover”

Trin Monsta has a new track out called “Undercover Lover”, likely off his upcoming album Changes, due in the first part of 2012. TM went in a more accessible Pop direction with this single, meaning it comes with the usual pros and cons. It’s a fairly catchy track but don’t expect a lot of depth, easy to listen to yet a bit more generic… you get the idea. We’re just glad to hear from the Monsta once in a blue moon.

Trin Monsta Takes You “Higher” with GIBS V

TM has made an expected return by dropping a new track called “Higher” featuring GIBS V. The dance oriented Rap song has a decidedly Black Eyed Peas type of feel to it, making it a fitting choice for the radio or party though I can’t say this is gonna be looked back upon as a timeless classic. The good news is that it’s available now as a free DL, so enjoy it for the time being!

Trin Monsta Releases “Hollywood Fasho” [Free DL]

It’s been a while since we last heard from Trin Monsta, so it was kind of surprising to see a new drop from the guy. Here he is with a new track, released as a hold-over until his next EP is ready. It’s called “Hollywood Fasho”, a song about his past experiences living in Hollywood. His flow is a little monotonous on this one but I was liking the narrative. Check it out for yourself  as a free DL here.

Here’s a FREE mp3 download while all of you wait for the release of TM’s up and coming EP.  It is an unreleased track that will NOT be on the new EP.  The track is called “Hollywood Fasho.”  Many of you know that TM had an early start in Hollywood.  This is a track about the late nights, parties at the club, writing rhymes, recording in the studio, doing shows, meeting girls, and dreaming big, all while working blue-collar 9-5.  Bump this track in your playlist while you wait for the new EP

Trin Monsta Drops the Trademark Mixtape

But if you’re really feeling it and wanna support the guy, you can pick up a copy via paypal for a high five.

Quick news bits round up

  • I have very few details except to say that it appears there was a shortlived “beef” between asian american hip hop artists trin monster and kevnish (of Far East Movement) earlier this week. TM posted a bulletin on myspace simply stating “fuck kevnish”. Since then he has put up a blog entry stating that “The beef is now settled.” I wonder what happened.
  • Rousseau, a hip hop artist associated with gunna-fam, the same crew spearheaded by shogunna, has posted a blog on his myspace proclaiming his retirement. The dude wasn’t huge on the scene, but he has been around for a while and definately had skill. Best of luck to him and his future endeavors.
  • Hip Hop DX is reporting that Jin will be releasing his all-cantonese album from last year (ABC) in Hong Kong via Universal Music Group Hong Kong.
