[Music Video] Magnetic North x Taiyo Na x Jin – “I Got My”
The folks behind the Home:Word album, Magnetic North & Taiyo Na have finally put out the music video to their song “I Got My” featuring Jin. But I doubt you’re ready for what you’re about to see as the crew has dug deep and reached out to all their contacts, friends, affiliates, etc to be a part of this MV. There are cameos from the Blue Scholars, Denizen Kane, Conchita Campos, DFD, Christina Chung, FM, Thomas Apartment, James Ha, Vienna Teng, DanAKADan, El Gambina, Cynthia Lin, Dawen, Bambu, DJ Phatrick, Kiwi, Heather Park, Vudoo, Lyrics, Manifest, Alfa, AJ Rafael, Jay Legaspi and a whole lot more. Those are just some of the musicians, there are a ton of activists, media folk, dancers, artists, students, educators, and more who also had a role. This is easily one of the dopest concepts put to music and unifying MV’s I’ve seen all year. Great release.
David Choi x Wong Fu x Joseph Vincent x Jason Chen x Jason Yang x Janice Yan x Jennifer Chung x Clara Chung x Magnetic North x Taiyo Na x afterschooolspecial To Perform at BU March 4th
Holy clam chowder. OK New England, hold on to your hats cause you have quite the mega show coming your way in just under a month’s time. I don’t know what kind of budget Boston University’s CSA has but they have dug deep to bring you a stellar line up of artists for their Goodwill Benefit Concert on March 4th. How stellar? Well just look at that poster! You got David Choi, Wong Fu, Joseph Vincent, Jason Chen, Jason Yang, Janice Yan, Jennifer Chung, Clara Chung, Magnetic North, Taiyo Na, and Afterschoolspecial. It’s just a shame they spelled Jennifer’s last name wrong. Anyway, it must be good to be a college student now, cause I definitely didn’t have these types of shows when I was in school. You can find out more information about the event on the official facebook page and buy tickets here.
Boston University Chinese Student Association and Goodwill will be holding a benefit concert called Takeout. The theme of the concert is to takeout the bindings that restrict today?s adolescents from reaching their maximum potential.
David Choi x Kina Grannis x Wong Fu x KevJumba x Nigahiga & More Cover FM’s “Rocketeer”
David Choi and friends have put this fun little video cover together of Far East Movement’s “Rocketeer”. There are video appearances by Wong Fu, Nigahiga, KevJumba, Kina Grannis, and more. I gotta say, DC sure keeps a talented circle of friends. This is definitely one of the more novel covers I’ve heard of the song. Hopefully the original will continue to rocket up the charts similar to “Like a G6″ did.
afterschoolspecial Drops Debut Full Length Album & MV for “Name” with WongFu
Finally! After hearing about the album and MV for “Name” for months now, both have finally dropped. The MV is a collaboration with WongFu and it’s only more proof that their portfolio continues to improve. This MV has a great concept, matches the style of song, and effectively incorporates everyone involved with the project including all the band members and a cameo from Paul Dateh himself. It was a nice touch to see the band rocking out on office supply instruments. The heroine of the video is pretty cute too
. Props both to the band and Wong Fu for a great release.
“Name” can be found on their full length debut, It’s All in Your Head which also dropped today – so pick up a copy! It’s got 11 tracks, is 11 bucks and has free shipping at the moment! The album also features Derek Kan of Magnetic North, Taiyo Na, Pigeon John, dumbfoundead, JK Films, Traphik, IZ, and verseatile. Support the band, support these artists.

Just Cause: Nigahiga x Wongfu x Jay Park – Bromance
Ryan Nigahiga has a new short out where he teams up with Wong Fu and asian super star Jay Park. They get into the potentially awkward subject of bromance. The whole thing is stupid, silly, and entertaining… it’s great =). I think it’s awesome to see Jay connect with other Asian-American media personalities, even those outside the music realm. BROMANCE.
afterschoolspecial x Paul Dateh x Wong Fu Release “Name” MV Teaser
We first told you all about this back in August, but come November 2nd, afterschoolspecial’s MV for “Name” featuring Paul Dateh and directed by Wong Fu will finally be released. Wong Fu always comes correct with their videos and afterschoolspecial has put a lot of work into retooling and reworking the single. It’ll be featured on their debut full-lenght album It’s All In Your Head.
Here’s the official tracklist from the upcoming album:

Snapshot: AJ Rafael x Jay Park x Wong Fu x FM @ ISA LA 2010
It’s only been a couple weeks since the sold ISA LA 2010 event but I thought it’d be great to share this pic I came across of many of the faces involved with this years show. In this picture taken by Pacific Rim, we got Wong Fu, AJ Rafael, FM & Jay Park – representing as International Secret Agents. I hate to admit but I geek out at the thought of so much talent working together. It’s so incredible to see so much support, cooperation and fellowship within the artistic community.
Clara Chung, Meagan Lee, WongFu & Others on the Cover of KoreaAM

The latest issue of KoreaAM is out and the cover story is about Asian American artists taking the Youtube world by storm. On the cover of this edition is Clara Chung, Meagan Lee, along with Ted of WongFu Productions, JK Film and Ryan Nigahiga. They are going to run an 8 piece feature segment on some of the top AA acts on Youtube so stay tuned for that, we’ll be sure to post the ones about the musicians. For now, go check out the intro story on their website AND be sure to pick up a copy yourself!
Just ‘Cause: Cathy Nguyen x David Choi x WongFu & More Present “The Allergy”
For the 2nd day in a row we have another “Just ‘Cause” feature involving WongFu. Well this one also has a few other of our favorite musicians, namely Cathy Nguyen & David Choi and they bring you an anti smoking PSA. I gotta tell you, it’s friggn hilarious. It takes a lot to make me LOL but I truly did. It’s the same type of funny, uncomfortable, awkward laughter that I get from watching the Office. Without further ado, enjoy “The Allergy”.
