WTF: Jinusean – The Reign

I typically wouldn’t feature a commercial Korean album as a weekly thursday freebie but decided to make an exception with this one. This is mainly because it was one of the first Korean albums to heavily feature collaborations with American artists. Check the tracklist!

It’s got Mobb Deep, Cypress Hill, & Chino XL along with a ton of Eastern talent.

  1. Holdin’ Down (Feat. Mobb Deep, Perry)
  2. A-Yo
  3. Real Wunz(Feat. Cypress Hill)
  4. 빙빙빙 (Bing Bing Bing)
  5. Hiphop Seoul – 者 (Feat. Chino XL, Masta Wu, Teddy)
  6. Ooh Boy (Feat. J)
  7. 2 Run Hiphop
  8. Hip Hop
  9. Follow Me (Feat. M- Flo)
  10. JS Anthem
  11. Outro
  12. Ooh Boy (The Black Crow Remix) (Feat. 3534, Lexy, Vanessa)

The album is laughable at times but the majority of it has still held up well considering it’s been 8 yrs since it’s release. The group may have used YG’s deep pockets to bring in some ringer talent but truth be told it ain’t a bad album, even if some of the features gave half-hearted attempts.

One can only hope the globalization of music will continue.

  1. Hahaha! I remember this album from JS.

btw… don’t you think the instrumental for “Holdin’ Down” sounds like Umalis Bar?

yeah… check both of them out.
