Wonder Girls (finally) Get Some US Radio Play

The Wonder Girls are reportedly finally getting some US radio airplay. They are currently in rotation at 18 top 40 stations around the country. There are 167 top 40 stations in total, so it’s really not that many as of right now but it’s a start!

Of the 167 ‘Top40 Radio Stations’ located throughout major U.S. cities, their U.S. debut single ‘Nobody’ has entered the rotation playlists of 18 stations. A song which goes on the rotation list will play at least once or twice a week for a month.

From what we’ve seen so far, we expect to see them enter more rotation playlists and their airplay ranking to increase.”

According to an airplay analysis chart by music website Mediabase, ‘Nobody’ was played over 65 times by radio stations between October 12 to 18 to increase the group’s airplay ranking by 16 spots from the previous week to No. 107.

Will this event become a minor footnote in music history or the start of something big for Asians in the North American music market? Hard to say but you can show your support by calling up your local top 40 station and requesting they add ‘Nobody‘ to the rotation!

Congrats to the WG, we hope to see (and hear) more of you.

PS… If you ordered a WG CD, it looks like they’ve started shipping. The owner of Bump This! has gotten hers already!
