David Choi was recently interviewed by Vi3tI3abe Media through an interesting medium, Twitter. Given the method of choice, you can imagine that both questions and answers alike are on the shorter side provided the constraints. Either way they fly though over a dozen questions touching on topics like his upcoming album By My Side and video work with WongFu. If you got a few minutes it’s a good read to get caught up on what’s coming up for Mr Choi.

@Vi3tI3abe: 1. We all know u have a new album coming out. How did you come up with the title?
@davidchoimusic: I played around with a bunch of ideas and “By My Side” seemed to fit best 🙂

@Vi3tI3abe: 2. What is your fav song from the new album & why?
@davidchoimusic: they are all my babies!
@Vi3tI3abe: haha, aw. can’t pick a fav? did you write all of them by yourself? (side question) oh n u dont have to put my name 1st =)
@davidchoimusic: I can’t pick a fav! impossible 🙂 I have to put your name or else everyone will complain about mass texts! : /

@Vi3tI3abe: 3. If a mainstream artist were to cover a song off your new album, who would you want it to be? =)
@davidchoimusic: Michael Buble because his voice is like butter
@Vi3tI3abe: haha, ohh i do love his songs. so sweet!
@Vi3tI3abe: 4. What has been your inspiration lately or while you were writing/creating your songs?
@davidchoimusic: my life over the last year or so
@Vi3tI3abe: So all your songs are based on events in your life?
@davidchoimusic: I wouldn’t say all, but I try to incorporate a part of my life into each song
@Vi3tI3abe: Oic, that does make listening to your songs all the more meaningful =)
@Vi3tI3abe: I know u recently finished a tour on the east coast, & i’m sad to say i missed it since u came to philly =( but…
@Vi3tI3abe: 5. What is your fav thing about being on tour? Fav place you’ve been to so far?
@davidchoimusic: The best thing about touring is meeting everyone face to face and having a good time! I don’t have a favorite place!
@davidchoimusic: every school, venue, location has a different feel and vibe. If I did a show in Hawaii, that could become my favorite:)
@Vi3tI3abe: are most people surprised to see how short you are? haha =)
@Vi3tI3abe: yes Hawaii would be nice
@davidchoimusic: Some people are surprised as they are used to seeing me on the computer. Does it matter though? 🙂
@Vi3tI3abe: no b/c you’re awesome either way haha
@Vi3tI3abe: 6. Has a fan ever asked you to sign anything weird? If so, what?
@davidchoimusic: haha thanks. I just signed my first butt at the University of Virginia 🙂
@Vi3tI3abe: haha, reali? wow. i always wonder y ppl ask to sign their body parts. it’s gonna come off anyways?!?!
@Vi3tI3abe: 7. How about, the most interesting item you’ve received from a fan? U must have a sep. room for all that stuff by now!
@davidchoimusic: I’ve gotten a thong a couple times lol
@Vi3tI3abe: LOL! hmm…i hope they were brand new =P
@Vi3tI3abe: 8. Are there any key differences b/t this album & your last? like beat, sound, theme, etc?
@davidchoimusic: It will still be mellow me, but with a little more production (a little less acoustic) 🙂
@Vi3tI3abe: oh wow, that should be interesting =)
@Vi3tI3abe: 9. So with your covers, any specific reason you choose the songs that you do?
@davidchoimusic: 1. If I like the song 2. if it’s requested a lot, or 3. if I think “it would be funny to cover this song”
@Vi3tI3abe: oic, ok then.
@Vi3tI3abe: 10. What would be your dream collaboration project?
@davidchoimusic: I’d love to be in Stevie Wonder’s presence 🙂
@Vi3tI3abe: 11. Fans are eager to see your new MV “That Girl” (via @wongfupro). can u give anymore teasers or details about it?
@davidchoimusic: It will be out on May 18th, the day of my album release 🙂 That’s all I can say! 😉
@Vi3tI3abe: haha, dang. was hoping for alittle more but i suppose that will have to do.
@Vi3tI3abe: 12. Even tho u have such a hectic schedule, u still find time to interact w/the fans.Do u consider that a priority & if so, why?
@davidchoimusic: Of course! I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing if it wasn’t for my listeners! No listeners=no reason to share music 🙂

@Vi3tI3abe: 13. So what’s next on the agenda for you after your album & MV are released? Any new projects in the works?
@davidchoimusic: mmm a vacation would be nice 🙂 Maybe work on a fall tour or something. Not sure yet!
@Vi3tI3abe: u should take a vacation to Miami! we can chillax on the beach or see sites =) i can def be your tour guide haha

@Vi3tI3abe: 14. Is there any other career you would have done if you didn’t become a musician?
@davidchoimusic: a songwriter/producer/composer 🙂
