Singer song writer Connie Lim has shared a new original called “LA City” inspired by a recent trip from LA to Centralia Washington. The accompanying video is filled with clips and footage from the trip and fits the song perfectly. Production values aren’t high but it’s almost like we were able to be a part of the trip with her. Connie sounds great as always, and if you don’t mind a simple, slow, but passionate song, I think you’ll enjoy this number.
“LA City”
music and lyrics by Connie LimLA city you can be so beautiful
All your streets filled with dreams and spectacle
Pretty city I must leave when autumn falls
The weather changes elsewhere
I must feel it all
So I can goOOoooOOOhh
Why do roots of trees have blankets made of concrete here
When the sun is shining bright most seasons of the year
Perhaps because the people stay in homes of steel
Zooming ’round and round till there’s no warmth to share
The trees go
oohooohhh
San Francisco temperaments misunderstood
Summer is a season she would never see,
cuz the fog still comes to visit with his prophecies
When she asks him if the world is changing for the good
He tells herOooh
From city to city to city to city to city
It all is the same
We are made for each other
From city to city to city to city to city
It all is the same
We are made to eat, to love, to cradle one anotherThe Orchard trees in Washington have company
Ive made time to pick the fruits they bear for me
The taste is ripe, the pace is right
The faces are nice
Coming back to center just to feel it allFrom city to city…
it is all the same
