Sam Hart Sings “Come Home Yesterday”

Though we haven’t heard new material from him in a while, “Come Home Yesterday” is the latest effort by Sam Hart. He steps a little outside of his bubble, going into more mid-tempo range but I’d really like to see him tackle a different genre all together. This is still an enjoyable listen though. Perhaps it’s time he laid them down proper and shared some of his music on bandcamp?

[verse]
i can hear it in your voice
i’m losing you on the phone
if i had a choice
i wouldn’t be here alone

there’s a wall between us
there’s a great divide
and if the distance defeats us
i feel like i might die

[chorus]
so come home yesterday
come home tomorrow
don’t you stop when the sun is in your eyes
come home happiness
come home sorrow
come home to the rest of your life
so come home yesterday

[verse]
there’s an empty space
where you’re supposed to sleep
where you rest your head
and fall back into me

feels like suicide
feels like we’re going down
i pray that they’re right
when they say that everything comes around

[chorus]

[bridge]
4000 miles feels like forever
counting the hours till we’re together
