Aussie, Maribelle Anes, whipped up a new Pop/R&B ditty called “Pretty Face” that touches on the topic of falling out of touch with an old friend. She sings over an acoustic guitar (which she’s pretty proficient at), and overall this song has a lot of potential to be a light, summertime Pop hit if tracked properly. Let’s hope she goes into the booth and see’s this one to completion!
Just chillin’ in my backyard and came up with a new original song. Do you have an old friend who you no longer see any more but miss so much? Link this video to them 😉
LYRICS: (Written by Maribelle Añes)
Verse 1:
We talk from time to time
but back in the day it was only you and I
We’d go to the mall
and pick up some guys
you’d be my wing girl, my partner in crimePre-Chorus:
Then suddenly we
parted ways, silly me
I let my best friend goChorus:
I got an issue (uh-huh)
the thing is I miss you
tell me when do I get to see your pretty face again
We got a problem (uh-huh)
I know how to solve them
baby let me have a chance to see your pretty face againVerse 2:
Dinner’s on me for sure
we’ll feast at Nando’s like we used to
baby how I miss youwe can talk about boys
and talking about life
the 411, the sugar and spice
fill me in and i’ll do the same babyPre-Chorus:
‘Cause suddenly we
parted ways, stupid me
I let my best friend goBridge:
It sucks how things turn right around, it hurts
the ways of life I don’t quite approve
we live and we learn
we love and we burn
I wish I was still best friends with you
