Kero One & Esna Form Kesna Music

All I have to say to the following news is “Thank God” and “About time”! Kero One and Esna have worked and toured frequently together over the past few years, but they are just now making it official and have formed a project group called Kesna Music. The two of them have some new tunes coming our way this summer, and will release a music video for the first single “Is It Love” in the coming month or so. In fact, the single was chosen to be included as a ringtone in the new LG Optimus line of cellphones. Looks like we have big things in store from the two, can’t wait!

Kesna Music is a new music duo created by Kero One and Esna. The two California based artists first met in 2010 when Kero discovered Esna from a YouTube video. The video, which has generated nearly a million views, was called “Jam Session 2.0”. Kero One was immediately drawn to Esna’s jazzy yet soulful voice, and in 2011, the two released their first collaboration when Esna was featured on the song “Fast Life” from Kero One’s Kinetic World album. Since then, they have been making music and touring the world together.

Now, Kero One and Esna bring us a new project called Kesna Music – a soul/funk/jazz project inspired by the 70’s era of music and drawing on their musical inspirations from the likes of Marva Whitney, Anita O’day, Ella Fitzgerald, Adele, and Mark Ronson.

The first single and music video “Is It Love” will be released in the Summer of 2013 and has been selected as a ringtone for the new LG optimus cellphones.
