Showdown: Michelle Martinez vs Kaile Goh

It’s been a couple months since our last showdown, but we return with an interesting match up. There’s a very good chance that you’ve heard Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”; it’s almost impossible to avoid. Well we have two very different artists both laying down an all acoustic version of the pop tune, but on very separate ends of the spectrum. Pop/R&B singer Michelle Martinez decides to flip the song entirely, slowing it down and singing to a ballad piano track. Young newcomer Kaile Goh teams up with Ken Belcher for an acoustic rock remix, keeping it upbeat but putting more of an edge on the song. Both are great renditions, but is there one that stood out more to you?

Personally, I thought Meesh’s version was much prettier, but there’s something about Kaile’s rougher vocals that made the song stand out. It’s a tough choice but in the end I may have to go with MM as my favorite here. It’s close though.
