Japanese Jazz/Hip-Hop outfit, Re:plus, have tapped the talents of another Asian-American act – none other than Flow Ethics. Once you think about it, FE seems like a perfect fit for a feature on a Re:plus production… they did compete on Kollaboration Acoustic a couple years back after all. And you know what? They make a strong a team as any as the song, “Let the Story Tell” is one of the best tracks I’ve heard yet from the California group. Take a listen below! This is from the album Ordinary Landscape, available in Japan.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Hook – Zanna (Rosanna Gamboa)
Sometimes we find it all to well/
Maybe it’s time to let the story tell/
Even though you may not speak/
Your eyes are all you need to talk to me/
Verse 1 – Romen (Raldy Coloma)
So we working and we building til we comfortable/
For the fairly odd stars like cosmos/
And we not defined by the amount of time/
But we seem to use our lies as our line of fire/
But these nine to fives got our minds surprised/
And suppressed to even have a good grind at life/
So my words on a paper speak light like a saber/
Give advice, I’m gonna right all the wrongs that I made up/
I’m a stay up I’m a keep it I’m a do it til I reach it/
This is what I call that “figure it speeching”/
It’s deaf tone plays in movies like touchstones/
Engrave my expression on a rock like rushmore/
To mush-on keep my foot in the front door/
To run off like a sentence that doesn’t make sense/
But it’s sentenced in your head/
To remember it’s FE and replus from Japan, let’s go!!
Hook – Zanna (Rosanna Gamboa)
Sometimes we find it all to well/
Maybe it’s time to let the story tell/
Even though you may not speak/
Your eyes are all you need to talk to me/
Verse 2 – sDot (Samuel Labuen)
I can feel the pressure, it’s getting closer now/
Ain’t no second guessing, how am I suppose to sound/
When everybody trying to push you around/
Then they see you on stage, and try to give you a pound/
But I give daps back, you ask why?/
Cause eye for an eye, can make the world blind/
And I ain’t about that, I’m about tracks/
ain’t about stacks, I’m about facts/
Oh you can’t see, just hit the playback/
On this CD, get you eyes back/
Tryna find strength, what your life lack/
Gotta learn to ride your own path, no high jack/
Keep em on beat like a hi hat do/
See me on the street, say hi my dude/
Push up to the sky, to your heart be true/
Weather this storm, I’ll be there for you/
Verse 3 – T (Tristan Reparejo)
Open your eyes up to a new day/
Leave the past behind, let’s never lose faith/
No matter what the grind, let’s never lose strength/
And we goin ride together until the blues break/
Hardship, hard work, make my back strong/
Hard beats, hard verse, make the track strong/
Storm coming, never running, stay head strong/
Never die, either you with or you’re dead wrong/
Cause I ain’t the type to up and leave/
I take my art to the heart, through the pen I bleed/
And this is real life never make believe/
And you just blind to the fact, but imma make you see that/
No matter how hard the climb is/
Still shine through all kinds of climate/
Stand strong, the spirit keep on rising/
Until we reach the top we surviving. We alive man/
Hook – Zanna (Rosanna Gamboa)
Sometimes we find it all to well/
Maybe it’s time to let the story tell/
Even though you may not speak/
Your eyes are all you need to talk to me/
