Ms Jennifer Chung has finally released the long awaited music video to her heartfelt, homesick ballad, “Common, Simple Beautiful“. In order to visually express the nostalgic longings of the lyrics, Jen & her team balanced sharp new footage with clips from yesteryear – helping to drive the point home and allowing us to relive some of her personal experiences. This may be my favorite video from Jennifer yet.
Finally the video is up! I first wrote this song when I was away from home in college when I was 18.. I hadn’t seen my mom in so long and “home” felt so far away. The song came so naturally from my heart and it’s amazing how I finally got to shoot a music video for it this past February, about 4 years after I wrote the song, when I was up there for my SF album show.
I’m really blessed to have the opportunity to hear wonderful stories that some of you have shared with me about what this song meant to you. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing them to me.
The crew I worked with were SO professional, kind, amazing, etc. etc. If you ever get a chance to work with them.. DO IT.
