The next guest contributor in our line-up is the one and only Christian Oh. Christian plays a massive and integral role in supporting the Asian-American community, especially in the Washington, DC area. He serves as the executive director of Kollaboration DC (of which I had the honor of guest judging back in 2010), is a faculty lecturer of Asian American Studies as the University of Maryland, along with many other roles.
First of all, I would like to thank Gifted Thought for the opportunity to blog for A-Tunes.Net. I have been a big fan since 2008 back when I first came across this site because there was the announcement for Kollaboration Acoustic 2 in Los Angeles. So I give much praise and kudos for the site’s mission of continuing to cover the Asian American music industry. In fact, it is a true pleasure being able to see the growth and talent that exists out there.
So for my first post, I wanted to keep it somewhat Kollaboration movement oriented. Please support the return of Kollaboration Chicago. They just released their promo video. I am truly excited for their return. They have gone through some growing pains but they are back fierce for 2012 with 7 finalists and a fantastic venue at the North Shore Center of Performing Arts on Saturday July 7, 2012 at 7pm. Check out their talent in the promo video.
Lastly, one of my favorite singers who was part of Kollaboration DC in 2010 is Amanda Lee and she has a wonderful show coming up on Monday June 11th at the world-renowned and beautiful Gibson Guitar Showroom in DC. She is performing as part of the The 9 Songwriter Series. The Gibson Guitar Showroom is located at 709 G Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001
Tickets are only $12 online and $15 at the door day of. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 7:30pm.
Check out the mission of The 9 Songwriter Series.
