The single may have dropped just a couple days ago but we now have a new Music Video to promote the release for Johnnyphlo‘s “Happy Ending”. This is JP’s Korean solo debut and serves as his reintroduction to the masses since relocating to the motherland over a year ago. You can read more about the autobiographical Hip-Hop track, along with the lyrics and translation over at his Naver site.
This song is dedicated to my family and friends.
About a year ago, I was blessed with an opportunity to further pursue my career in Korea. Honestly, as big of an opportunity as it is, the pressure was even bigger. More than the expectation that I had for myself, I didn’t want to disappoint anyone that has supported me from day 1 – my family, my friends, and my fans.
My dream and my goal have been clear from the beginning. My dream was never to become a superstar. My goal was never to be famous. It was to live my entire life being a musician. Everyday, I’m living that dream and I’m working hard to stabilize it.
I guess the pressure came from the fact that my dream and my goal might not be as ‘fancy’ or ‘glamorous’ as the expections of those that have supported me all along. But I realized I was wrong. Everyone that has supported me has been there for me because they wanted me to live out my dream, no matter what it may be.
Again, this song is dedicated to my family and my friends. Thank you. I love you. I miss you. Please don’t, not even for a second, think that I have forgotten about you. You made my dreams into reality and it’s all the more meaningful that I’m making something out of the love and support that YOU have given me.
