The Mid-week Music Video Mini-Reviews Round-Up – 11/19/14 – Get Up and Dance Edition

We’ve got that Wednesday Night Dance Fever… ok that might not be a thing but that’s what ties all these music videos together that we have for you in this week’s mini-review round up. EDM to breaking to choreo to good-ol-get-up-and-shake-your-booty-no-matter-where-you-are-in-the-world kinda fun is all present here. I’m sure at least a couple of these will get you to tap ya feet and nod ya head.

The rhythm is gonna get ya.

Kinjaz Dancing to “Animus Vox” by The Glitch Mob

+This video oozes “cool”
-Would have been cool to see some BTS footage on the crew interacting with the Shaolin monks

Anthony Lee & Friends Dancing to “Attica ’71” by Olivver

+So smooth. All of it.
-This was shot in China. But I couldn’t tell.

Steve Aoki x Machine Gun Kelly – “Free the Madness”

+The Breaking Bad motif is pretty entertaining
-MGK got skills… but they weren’t really utilized here

Bruno Mars featuring for Mark Ronson – “Uptown Funk”

+Bruno has vintage swag down to a science
-This is the kind of video that begs for more cameos!

The Slants – “Capture Me Burning”

+The source material for the video is hilarious
-It would have been even more hilarious to see The Slants recreate the vibe, ala Weezer & “Buddy Holly”

Nicole Scherzinger – “On the Rocks” (Wideboys Video Edit)

+Nicole wrecks sh*t and looks great doing it
-But seriously… we get it Nicole, you’re hot; but you’re always in some state of undress!

Marie Digby – “Diamond Eyes”

+Marie continues to explore different musical styles and I’m digging it
-The B/W, the imagery, the warehouse… it kinda comes off like an extended 90’s Calvin Klein ad

YENN – “Foreigner” (808N Remix)

+I prefer this version of the song over the original
-Her videos tend to have this quality that screams “amateur production company trying to emulate the pros”

Sam Tsui – “Wherever You Are”

+Loving how Sam got his fans involved
-Not much negative to say… maybe it would have been cool to see him interacting with the fans? I’m stretching.

Far East Movement x Sidney Samson – “Bang It to the Curb”

+It’s a goofy and humorous video, for sure
-No verse from J Splif
