Tasha (Yoon Mi Rae) to Sue Sony for Using Her Music in ‘The Interview’ Without Consent

The Interview has certainly become a lightening rod for publicity, hasn’t it? After all the fiasco of the film’s debut and North Korea allegedly hacking Sony to show their displeasure with the comedy centered around the assassination of King Jong Un, more news has rolled in concerning some of the music used in the movie. It’s been reported that Tasha (aka Yoon Mi Rae), the South Korean rapper from the States, and her company will be moving forward with legal action for the unauthorized use of her song, “Payday”, in the film. Apparently, talks had taken place for it’s usage, but it was never cleared and therefore should have never been used. An oversight in the legal/licensing department or just some blatant bullying by a big company over a regional-ish music star?

Either way, shame on you, Sony. Tsk tsk. Send Tasha a big check. She deserves it.

PS, has anyone seen the movie? Is it any good?
