Jennifer Chung joins Paul Dateh and Ken Belcher to sing their original song ‘Dusting Off’ and produce another fine collaboration. The song has a fun pop/country twist to I enjoyed seeing Jennifer Chung tackle a slightly different genre though her contributions weren’t in the forefront as much here. Paul & Ken make a solid team as always. I wonder if there is going to be a studio version of the track.
They also covered the Alicia Keys song “Doesn’t Mean Anything”. Here JC gets her chance to shine though there are a couple rough spots. I really enjoyed Paul & Ken’s arrangement.
Lyrics for ‘Dusting Off’ after the break.
[verse 1]
i’m calling you from the open road
to prove to you that i’m not comin’ home
’cause it’s time for me to live off on my own
now your influence over me no longer has any hold
yes i’m free to live my life with all my heart and soul[chorus]
i’m dusting off what’s left of you
i’m going on my own way
i do believe what i’m saying is true
that i’m dusting off what’s left of you
yeah, i dusting off what’s left of you[verse 2]
there was a time when you and i were the same
but now i’m ashamed that we share the same name
breaking away from you, i shall proclaim
that i’m burning down the bridge that takes me home
wherever you’re not is where i want to be from this day forth[bridge]
because i’m tired of living the same everyday
yes i’m tired of waiting on you to change
i’m so very weary, burnt out, and worn
i’m just so tired of you leaving everything in disarray
