Stacy & Robbie Share “The Chase”

Stacy Dudero and Robbie Ocampo have a new original out called “The Chase” and this one is oozing with bluesy style. I’m really digging her smoky voice coupled with the smooth guitar instrumentation. These two continue to make a great team. But one of the other things that really caught my eye was the following comment on Youtube regarding the video:

Man, it must be hard dating singers. If you do them wrong, they will write a song about you.

Hahahaha, never thought of it that way, but very true. Date responsibly folks ;-).

The Chase [Lyrics]

Smooth like honey you’re approaching me
Your brown eyes are piercin’ me
Your confidence I could sense a mile away, hey baby
A smooth talker just like a fire
Heatin’ up my mind, stimulating, captivating
You make me feel so good inside
How can I deny, how can I deny
But wait…

The lack of love you show to me
Evidently appears to be, that…
Your heart is cold, you’re blind to see
Baby love is a two-way street

(Chorus)
You know I’m talkin’ bout the chase
Is all you ever wanted
Was I just another name for you
The rush of playin’ with my emotions
What kind of fool am I to trust you
Now leave, get outta here
You got no business up in here
Playin’ with my heart
I need a real man to trust me, love me, guide me
To love me for who I am

You said I’m not like all the other girls
You see me so differently
You’re spittin’ words of poetry to me
Well baby I ain’t blind to see
Cuz three days after we met
I tried to call your phone but you didn’t pick up boo
Was it somethin’ that I’ve done
But I can’t recall, no I can’t recall
But wait…

Now it’s all coming clear to me
That everything that you said to me
Was just a lie it was all a front
Baby who do you think you are

Chorus…
You know I’m talkin’ bout the chase Is all you ever wanted
Was I just another name for you
The rush of playin’ with my emotions
What kind of fool am I to trust you
Now leave, get outta here
You got no business up in here
Playin’ with my heart
I need a real man to trust me, love me, guide me
To love me for who I…

(Chorus)
