Hello, friends. Even though there is no connection at all, we figured with a new academic year upon us, we’d introduce a new Freshmen feature. If you’re new – this is where we spotlight artists who are developing their following, and are still working on establishing themselves. Remember it’s important that you, the readers, vote either thumbs up or thumbs down on these posts because this will help us decide which of these artists can graduate from The Freshmen and be a part of the regular rotation of a-Tunes Music News.
Waty is a singer/songwriter based out of NY. She’s got a charming sound that’s already created a small buzz on Youtube thanks to her covers. Of course, the girl’s got original material too and that’s why we’re featuring her here. (On an interesting note, she’s got an disproportionately large twitter following – props!) “Smile” is the music video for her single, produced by Dayside (the same folks that brought us “Number 1“), and it’s a cute little music video that deals with an all too familiar subject.
Now that you’ve seen and heard the singer and her material, what’s your verdict? If enough of you click thumbs up, we’ll be sure to pay attention to Waty and keep you informed.
