By next week, we finally expect to be fully caught up on the music video review backlog. After that, nearly every video we post in our round-ups will be recent and we’ll go into a little more detail with our reviews. So without further ado, we present the penultimate edition of our catch-up mini-review round-ups that we’ve doing the past year or so. Thanks for being patient with us!
Jessi Malay – “Summer Love”
+A very minor point, but I can appreciate how they used “vertical video” without making the screen crop
-This video dropped wayyy too late in the summer. If promoted earlier, it would have made for a great light summer jam
Lions Ambition – “Cream Cheese Hot Dog”
+These guys always look like they have so much fun. I wanna chill with em one day
-It’s a chill video but I wish they’d step the production values at some point
AJ Rafael x Jesse Barrera – “She Was Mine”
+This song’s got longevity. Held up pretty well after 5 yrs or so
-Both of these fellas need to drop new music soon
CL x Diplo x RiFF RAFF x OG Maco – “Doctor Pepper”
+As CL makes her way into the US market, I’m glad she ain’t afraid to be bold
-But I’m otherwise apathetic to this song. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but CL comes off a bit try-hard
Aziatix – “Top of the World”
+It was an exciting past couple years, and even if they never quite blew up I’m glad this group existed
-I guess all good things must come to an end
Thaitanium x Snoop Dogg x Lil Crazed x Rob Campan x Traphik – “Wake Up” (USA Remix)
+These artists always have good chemistry together
-I really don’t know how to feel about grown men rapping on Airboards
Joell Ortiz x Illmind – “Lil’ Piggies”
+Illmind doin’ big things. If Illmind x Slaughterhouse ever happened I’d lose my mind. Oh and nice Rek cameo.
-I’ve got slightly mixed feelings about Ill playing the stereotypical Asian mob boss but I’m probably taking things too seriously
a-Tunes
