New Heights Starts Kickstarter Fund; Releases Christmas Single [Free DL]

Seattle band New Heights has just started a new Kickstarter pledge fund to help cover the costs of the recording and release of their album due in 2011. As is the norm with such fundraisers, different pledge amounts will result in various rewards and tokens of gratitude. Support good indie music! In January 2011, we’ll begin to record our next record (currently untitled) and we absolutely need the help of all our friends, families, and fans. The journey of NH began almost 6 years ago and we know that without the support we’ve received from friends over the years we wouldn’t have made it to where we are now. With your support, we’ve been able to release three records (Self-titled, Worlds, Starting Again) and have toured 19 States across North America with over 350 shows.

As many of you know, we are an independent band and have released everything up to this point on our own. Though there are many perks to being independent, the downside is that we don’t have the funding of a major label. That is why we decided to use Kickstarter for this new project to partner with our supporters in raising the funds necessary to release the record worldwide.

We are trying to raise $7,500 in an effort to release the new record by the Spring of 2011. We know this seems like a lot of money, but this is just bare minimum for us on what we’ll need to accomplish our goal. Here’s a breakdown of where the money will be going…

– Producer costs
– Duplication (CD printing)
– Getting tracks mixed in Nashville
– New merchandise (shirts, posters, etc)
– Studio time

If we reach our goal amount in the time allotted (90 days), this project will be funded at the end of the time frame. However, if we do not reach our goal, no one will be charged and we will receive nothing.
