The Mid-Week Music Video Mini-Reviews Round-Up – 3/25/15 – The VFX Edition

As someone who occasionally dabbles in Videography, I can tell you I have a love/hate relationship with the medium. But thankfully, we have plenty or more talented folks who lend their talents to produce the visuals for some of our favorite music. Today brings us a special focus on the visual effects with a handful of MVs for you to check out and admire that extra little visual flair these artists and their teams have incorporated.

DANakaDAN x Paul Dateh – “Til'”

+GREAT use of mixed media & editing
-None. Loved it all the way around

Maribelle Anes Features for SertOne – “Lost + Found”

+Cool, subtle animation
-Video gets grainy sometimes, perhaps from over-processing of color

Ed-Two x Samuel Larsen – “Loveless”

+Wow. Eye catching for sure. it’s so refreshing when rappers aren’t afraid to push boundaries with their videos
-Nothing negative to say about the video but I can’t imagine how long it took to shoot & edit this

Tim Be Told – “Mighty Sound”

+This song is so good. I’m glad it got a proper music video
-Although I dig the look overall, I don’t think the green screen CGI will hold up well over time

Andrew Huang – “Trap + Funk”

+Sequencing video. That’s impressive on it’s own
-That being said, it’s kind of a seizure inducing watch.
