Psy’s Music Makes Michael Bublé “Really Sad”

Michael Bublé recently stopped by the Today show and got to catch a viewing of Psy’s latest viral MV, “Daddy“. Let’s just say he won’t be subscribing to Psy’s youtube channel anytime soon. He had the following to say during the segment:

“Honestly, this just made me really sad,” Bublé continued. “I don’t want to live in this world anymore.”

In fact, after seeing Psy’s latest offering, he’s not even sure if he wants to make music anymore. “If this is what we have to look forward to at the Grammys next year, I’m out!” Bublé declared.

Dang Michael… tell us how you really feel…

But to be fair, I get it… Psy isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Also, I don’t think this was a direct comment on Psy himself but more on the state of the “viral”, EDM-heavy, production dependent music of today’s scene. Either way, he does come off a bit like a cranky old man. It’s ok though, he’s allowed to have his opinions, I just happen to disagree this time. I actually think Psy’s latest two music videos are his best releases since “Gangnam Style”.

But it should be noted, Buble ain’t the only artist who has had said disparaging things about Korea’s most popular export. Once opon a time, Greenday’s Bille Joe called Psy the “herpes of music”… which is why that comment earned him a “Worst Ever” feature. Bublé’s commentary is a lot less spiteful, though I do still think he’s being a tad too judgmental. Of course, I say this as a music blogger and critic… so who am I to talk?
